Introduction To The Let's Pop Art Blog, Site, And Podcast

Welcome to the Let’s Pop Art blog. We have created a website and a podcast with a vision of creating a community that works together to encourage and inspire the creation of art and content. Also, a place where artists might be able to put their minds together and help each other find ways to monetize their craft. We are living in fascinating times when it comes to technology. But we will ask the question, do you feel technology so far has been beneficial for creators on a financial level? We will let you decide that one for yourself. 

So, let’s switch gears a bit. As we head towards Web 3 with the creation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), there is the possibility that this could be a bright beacon of light for artists. Technology is extremely fascinating. We can send files and emails, a book manuscript, and a social media post around the world in seconds. But with all this hyper speed, when it comes to communication, have we lost the feeling of something being special. Before the age of the internet, things took more time to happen. But when they did, it made things very special. For instance, like a period piece movie where a man on a horse delivers a long awaited love letter. It made things quite dramatic, romantic, and of course really special. If you start to really think about this, it is a massive rabbit hole we are not going to take you down. 

Some things still remain the same like the transportation of physical goods. And our current circumstances with the pandemic have really created some challenges. When it comes to art, history has shown us that it took some time for a painting or piece of literature to make its way to the museum, art gallery, or bookshelf. And that remains the same today. The question we might want to ask ourselves is, how did it stand the test of time?  

This brings us back to the hyper speed of the digital world. And how digital art and photographs of physical art can be posted to sites, blogs and social media in seconds. The walls have come down and the barriers of entry are just having a phone, tablet, PC, or laptop. This is all really quite fascinating. But with this hyper speed comes a massive amount of content flooding in. Some may call it competition. How will creators navigate this? Battle the algorithms and so on and so forth. We are definitely dawning on a new age when it comes to art, digital art, and content creation in general. But in this hyper speed digital world how will the artist, digital artist, and content creator find their way? How will they monetize their craft? And how will they possibly find their way into history and stand the test of time? This is why we created the Let's Pop Art site, blog, podcast and hopefully someday community, to hash out some tough questions.
